Liberty Bell

I crackcd the liberty bell with a sledge hammer
because it wasn't chiming
The bell doesn't toll for everyone I screamed
As I paid penance to cross the state border
of picket lines with pickct signs saying.
Yield and Keep off the Grass
But as I take another toke off this mad stash
I get Rocky Mountain high
Start seeing genetically modified
amber waves of grain
Or was that amber waves of pain
Maybe spacious skies of rain
Troddin' hard on the downtrodden
Falling heavy on the unfortunate
'Cause fortune ain't fickle
Its victims don't vary
It'll bury the money-less in bottomless blues
While the rich folk shine in spit-shine shoes
Making your way in the world today
takes everything you've got
But creating a system that doesn't feed on poverty
sure would help a lot
We have to destroy this plot
that's destroying community
And begin a reign of classless unity
It's soon to be and take it from me
Until that happens, nobody is free
